We're Moving!

After prayer and careful thought, the Elders have decided that the church will move into the Dingle Community Centre for our Sunday morning service. The 4th of February will be our last at the Crestwood School.

A Rich Harvest of Life

By Janet Shackleton.

You crown the year with a bountiful harvest; even the hard pathways overflow with abundance
Psalm 65:11 (NLT)

As Jesus called his disciples to follow him, he promised to make them from ordinary fishermen into "fishers of men". And as they walked and lived with him, they learned who he was and saw his almighty power change the most impossible situations and transform lives.

We saw that same power among us last year as lives were changed when people met Jesus. In this next year let us continue to pray and trust him for an even more abundant harvest, of God's fruitfulness in our own lives and in the local community. We are called to work in the harvest field, and the Lord promises to "drench the ploughed ground with rain, melting the clods and levelling the ridges" (Psalm 65:10) and to bring in the harvest.

Though at times it seems our lives follow a difficult pathway, even then he promises abundant blessing and fruitfulness. And when those around us seem hard and unreceptive to the message, let us continue to pray for the rain of the Holy Spirit to bring softness and fertile ground, for a rich harvest of life in Jesus.

Taking the Gospel to the Community

Wherever you set your feet, the land will be yours. Your frontiers will stretch from the wilderness in the south to Lebanon in the north, and
from the Euphrates River in the east to the Mediterranean Sea in the west.

Deuteronomy 11:24 (NLT)

As we take the gospel to our community the Lord will open up the way for his Word to be victorious in the lives of those that call upon his name. All the Israelites had to do 3000 years ago was to walk in the land where God had promised and it would become theirs. Today we are asked to wear the shoes of peace (Eph 6) and take the gospel with us as we walk in faith through the area about us. Believing that the Lord will give us these territories too: that lives may be changed as the love and mercy of God is trodden about this estate. This area is lost without the message of the cross but they will not hear it unless we tell them.

In early bible times, territory was won by blood being spilt, today blood has already been spilt, once and for all, that of the lamb of God...Jesus Christ, He has made the way for all of mankind to inherit his land. (Heb 10)
