The Edge
The Edge is a youth work with a difference. It is aimed at 15-25 year olds and is a mentoring and training group for Christian's who want to be discipled.
The Edge currently meets in peoples houses on Thursday nights @ 7:30pm.
History
The edge started in 1997 with Tim Coles who was an elder of Oldswinford Christian Fellowship. There was a need for young believers who had matured beyond the youth groups of the church and needed something of their own
It started with just a few people from the church. After a few weeks Andy Hodson also joined the group and helped to lead it.
The theme of discipling was quickly established and for the first two years Andy and Tim ran it from their houses in Wollaston and Pedmore.
Soon other churches joined us by sending young people, in these days youth came form Kidderminster, Hollywood, Cotteridge, Bartley Green as well as locally from OCF and Chawn Hill CC.
The program contained a mix of fun, outdoor activities as well as a strong desire to worship, pray and study the bible.
Since 2000 Andy continued the group as Tim's commitment to the church grew and it was moved to Ham Dingle School where OCF met.
The group was always changing and prepared to go where it was needed. In 2002 it moved to Cotteridge and in 2003 it moved again to Wall Heath, until ending up at the Dingle Community Centre from January 2008.
