What Are You Waiting For?

Written by [JJ]
What are you waiting for?

"He gives power to the weak, and to those who have no might He increases strength. Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall, But those who wait on the LORD Shall renew their strength; They shall mount up with wings like eagles, They shall run and not be weary, They shall walk and not faint." - Isaiah 40:29-31

Have you ever noticed how much time we spend waiting in life? We wait for people, deliveries, buses, trains, planes and automobiles etc. Some things we find ourselves waiting for are not always good for us and the news we get is not what we’d hope for.

The word wait is often translated as hope and Hebrews 6:19 describes the hope we have in Christ. ‘This hope is a strong and trustworthy anchor for our souls. It leads us through the curtain into God’s inner sanctuary.

We have a hope that is certain. God has given the answer to all our questions and has supplied our most important need.

If we are waiting in hopeful expectation for strength, power, credibility, peace, purpose, justification or joy, then wait no longer, because that has already been given by the sacrifice of Jesus Christ on the cross.

Today your joy can be complete. You are justified, you have a God given purpose. With God, you can enjoy a peace that goes beyond all understanding. An incredible God has made our lives credible. Even if you feel weak and not so mighty, He has promised to give you power and strength which comes from above and it is there that we look for our God to send His blessings.

The good news is that all this became available to us at the point of salvation, because of the finished work of the cross. We have all of this and more, not just in the future, but also right now.

Don’t wait any longer, enter in and enjoy all God has done and Christ has accomplished on your behalf.

Be incredibly blessed, by an incredible God!

Kingdom Rules

11 May, 2012

We are part of God’s Kingdom and see Him as our leader and King to whom we turn. If we live by His rules, we will not just survive, but thrive. The truths found in John 14:6 contain the answers to many questions that we may ask in life......

Time For God

6 May, 2012

The reality is that we shouldn’t be fitting God in to our life; God should ultimately be our life! He is the centre of us, His Holy Spirit is the beating heart of our existence and without Him we are nothing.

Don’t Leave It Too Late...

29 April, 2012

There are some things that we can’t afford to leave until the last minute. The most important point is our salvation and why would we want to? People have all kinds of reasons for delaying their decision to join Christ – what’s yours?

Are We Sure Of Our Salvation?

21 April, 2012

Do we know (beyond a shadow of doubt) that we have eternal life? Do we know we are saved and therefore one of God’s loved ones? God wants His people to know for sure they are saved and a part of the family of God.

Discernment or Judgement?

15 April, 2012

Discernment is a term used to describe the activity of determining the value and quality of a certain subject. Unfortunately, as Christians, there are times when some in this world mistake discernment for judgement.

Sundays Here!

8 April, 2012

When Jesus died it seemed evil had won. However, as one old preacher once said, “It’s Friday but Sunday’s coming”. Today we celebrate the fact that Sunday is here, Jesus is no longer on the cross, the tomb is empty cause He Is Risen!

The More You Have The More You Want

1 April, 2012

Is there anything that we should want more of? I am sure we would all want peace, want more rest, want more people turning to God and rightly so, but shouldn’t our aim be to want more time with our God?

Barnabas ‘Son of Encouragement’

25 March, 2012

Whilst discouragement is so prevalent in our world today, as Christians it is vital that we learn how to practice the art of encouragement because encouraging others is not always something that comes naturally.

Who Knows You Best?

18 March, 2012

God’s interest is so great that he’s invested his very Spirit in us and as a result he knows us inside out, who we are, what we will be become and exactly what we really need to thrive as his children.

What A Difference A Midge Makes

11 March, 2012

As the spiritual temperature rises and potential small irritations come our way, I would encourage you to be ready with a soft answer and know that it is better to be kind rather than right.

Children are our Future

4 March, 2012

It is important that we set good examples for our young people as a body of people and also encourage them in their growth in life and faith – after all, they are the future church.

Walk By Faith

26 February, 2012

Can you imagine trying to fill Moses’ shoes? God had used him to dry up the Red Sea, wipe out the Egyptian army, receive the Ten Commandments on Mount Sinai and feed millions of Israelites every day in the Wilderness. How would you like to

Where Are You Looking?

18 February, 2012

Our perspective of God is essential to our prayer life and fundamental to our Christian walk. If your anything like me we tend to get our spiritual gaze drawn downwards BUT we need to look up.

Hopes & Dreams

5 February, 2012

We all have a hope, in the ‘verb’ sense in God, therefore we should also strive for a hope of the ‘noun’ tense! We have a desire and a belief that with God’s help we will see many people in our area be given a new hope!

Steady Growth

29 January, 2012

The gospel of John gives a limited but nevertheless informative account of an individual called Nicodemus. He is referred to three times, each of which shows us that God is as patient with steady growth as he is with outright zeal.

Psalm 23

22 January, 2012

In just six verses David goes on to expand just how all embracing this relationship is. A life in miniature it reflects, caring, watchfulness, provision, security, the ever present nature and all sufficiency of God.

Hearing God

15 January, 2012

We don’t often hear the audible voice of God, but like Eli, we perceive God speaking. God can speak through our sight as we see His majesty or are allowed to see an obvious need that we have been blessed or gifted to be able to help with.

Lamp To My Feet

8 January, 2012

Psalm 119 reminds us that God’s Word [Jesus, the bible] is a lamp to our feet, a light for our path. God’s Word doesn’t promise we will see the big picture but we will have our next step illuminated.

Beginnings

1 January, 2012

As we go into 2012, reflect by all means, on what has passed, but don’t look back with regrets of what you did or did not do. You cannot change the past. Ask forgiveness for your misdemeanours, repent and move forward.

Blessed With Peace

11 December, 2011

I was reminded this week that our job was never to simply keep the peace, but to be peace makers. To keep the peace is a management role, but to make it requires real action.

Sacrifice

13 November, 2011

On Friday, millions of people across the UK fell silent to remember the nations war dead. It’s good to know that in our modern society, there is still time for good old fashioned value’s such as respect and honour.

400 Not Out

16 January, 2011

Today I believe that the world is not desperate for a new translation of the bible, it needs a transformation of Christians who will love the word of God and take it into all the world.

Light Of The World

12 December, 2010

Jesus called himself the light of the world that we who believe now have. Therefore through us, ‘He is able’ to do great things and to win greater battles than the armies of old.

Lest We Forget

14 November, 2010

Making plans for the future based on bad experiences of the past, can lead to lives full of fear and guilt. If we make decisions rooted in positive memories and to see God glorified, then you will live in joy, peace and fulfilment.

Jerusalem

If anyone has been enjoying the success that the home nations are having in the Commonwealth games, you may have also noticed the anthem used as the English medallist stand on the podium.

Never Take Revenge

22 August, 2010

We must keep our thoughts on God and on the word of God that will renew our mind and allow us to concentrate on the things that are not seen, which may be the victory that God has brought about for us at Calvary.

Sending, Going And Giving

8 August, 2010

Our whole faith is based on sending, going and giving and as we see the Father do, so must we do. Keith Green once said: “This generation of Christians is responsible for this generation of souls”.

Make a Joyful Noise

20 June, 2010

As we each make our own personal shout unto God, our joyful noise is added to all the others who are doing the same and the whole earth resounds with God’s praise.

9 May, 2010

There is no fear in God because He loves us and perfect love casts out all fear. The Holy Spirit is part of God and would never harm you as a child of God.

Take Off The Old Nature

11 April, 2010

We would all love to think that we are strong enough not to be governed by our desires or surroundings, but the truth is we have all been effected by outside influences at one time or another.

Mother's Day

14 March, 2010

In the church, we can all help in some small ways to lessen the burden of those who faithfully serve. In doing so we share in the blessings that God loves to lavish on his people.

Valentine's Day

14 February, 2010

We must not see the counterfeit love of this world and try to duplicate this in the church. Just to be with God, to commune with Him and set yourself aside is enough and if we do that then all the things we are looking for will be found.
